So today was pretty much shit. (not to be confused with 'the shit' of course).
Went to aunts house (on my dads side) ,  and it was pretty much the most boring 7 hours of my life, i want them back to be frank. Got there, exchanged a few words with people , then went to twiddle with my thumbs for 7 hours ,because i dislike most of the people there - bloody family of showoffs who cant talk about anything which doesent big themselves up.
Played some DJmax Black square (which was released/hacked last night) , its pretty good , like clazziquai style but hard.
They put on 'Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium (2007)' , which - other than the first 10 minutes and the last 3 minutes , was a horrible horrible movie.

Ah well. at least i dont have to do that for another 365 days.

Secret of how to win monopoly , 100% foolproof.

Seriously. On every board , at the end , there are 2 areas which are a different colour - it doesent matter what region of monopoly you're playing , buy the last 2 before GO.
Obviously buy everything else you can , but go for these two. Once you have both , pump houses.
When mayfair is 'maxxed out', £2400 for landing on it. This turns into the 'game over' square essentially. Nobody has that much money. They will go bankrupt , and have to sell properties , thus getting poorer and poorer. Obviously , only owning 2 squares of the board may be trying , but eventually , they will all succumb. Happens everytime. And then? you win.

I know this from experience , i spent somewhere in the region of 8 hours today playing monopoly. As soon as someone has both of those , they insta-win , you may as well just give up if its not you because defeat is inevitable. Infact , in the 2nd game , we ended up going 4 on 1 trying to not go bankrupt by the devil who had both of them , we lost. (we let each other go rent free , so that we in theory can just keep gaining money from her.) How depressing.

And that is the story of my christmas , woke up  , opened presents , went to grandparents , played monopoly , lost , played scrabble , lost (although i got 'Retina' , 'awaken' and probably some other cool stuff too) , ate dinner , played scrabble again , lost again , played monopoly , lost again. Go home.

Tomorrow - Its the other family get together , thankfully,  DJmax blacksquare has sorta been hacked , so i get to be antisocial and play that, Yaaaaaaaaassssssssss.

Have to say , i think the amount of presents i get is decreasing with each year.
At least this christmas i get a secret santa present to look forward to as well as a weird shaped present from frances (its like some sort of prism shape... :S )

And of course there is the 360 and new TV , although those werent my presents in particular , but they're nice to have around. (completed dead rising today yay!)

Frances came over for dinner last night , and to meet the family and all that. She was scared to say the least but it all seemed to play out well. (may i also add she's surprisingly good at guitar hero - also the quietest drummer/strummer in the history of the world)

Yeah, so i havent been online much lately - aside from the TF2 / L4D last night.

Mainly because ive been playing on the 360,

Finished halo 3 on heroic mode the other day , pretty decent game i guess - but its very much the same sort of thing all the way through. Multiplayer is more fun thankfully. Cant really decide whether it was long or short , guess that means it was somewhere in the middle - the sand level was fucking ridiculously long though (the ark).

I think i finished dead rising? Im not sure.. i got to the end of the 72 hours , helicopter arrived.. sorta.. then i got the achievement for survivor and 10 survivors rescued , unlocked overtime mode... and then the game kept going? *shrugs* oh well. more the better , although the spec ops guys are fucking gay.

Also finished GHWT on drums on hard , however the move from hard -> expert seems a little ridiculous - with double bass beats and just random offbeat bass kicks. Havent really started the guitar career mode yet since guitar is kinda old. I'll probably do it sometime anyway though.

mm , maybe when i go back to uni you'll get posts which arent about me kicking ass at games :3

Played the rambo arcade game today in my local bowling alley (which is apparently really fucking up to date with games - they have the new silent hill cab too :S) , its so much fun. Build up your rage meter using your machine gun and killing everything and then press the 2nd trigger and your screen catches fire and rambo head appears and he;'s like AAARRRRGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHH and you get infinate ammo and invincibility. So great..

Oh , also on the games front. Tom Clancy's Endwar is so much fun to play , i downloaded the demo thinking it would be like rainbow 6 vegas or something. Then upon startup of the game it asked to configure my voice for commands... I thought.. well okay then , i guess i can issue commands to my squad members by voice - which is kinda cool.
Turns out the game is an all out RTS, which can be played using just one finger/button - that being your right forefinger for the right trigger which activates the mic. All commands can then be issued via the mic , control points are given a letter code , to which you can send units to.
For example , if you held RT and said - Unit 1 move to foxtrot , unit 1 would move to that position. You can change the camera by saying Unit X Camera , you can deploy units by saying 'deploy gunships' or whatever you want to deploy... 'unit 3 attack hostile 2' etc etc etc. Its so awesome.

So i forgot about my blog for a few days - as i realised i have a 360.

Its supposed to be a christmas present for my brother but for some reason im allowed to play it now , so i have been doing so.
Currently i have Guitar hero world tour , Halo 3 , and dead rising.

GHWT is pretty fun , although its not really something i can play for ages - the whole plastic guitar/drums age has sorta peaked already tbh , still fun but its just kinda there now.

Halo 3 is kinda meh in story mode , and i dont have an xbox live gold account so i cant really play online - thankfully. Because if i could play online i doubt id do any of my work.

Dead rising... is surprisingly fucking hard. The demo made the game appear all lah-dee-dah run around and see what you can use to kill zombies , wheras the actual game is GO HERE BEFORE 11AM , RESCUE THESE PEOPLE , ESCORT THE PEOPLE BECAUSE THEY'RE ALL USELESS,  FIND WEAPONS WHICH DONT SUCK , FIND FOOD , FIND KEYS , KILL ASSHOLE WHO IS SHOOTING AT YOU WITH A SNIPER RIFLE... WITH A CAN OPENER , etc etc. Its a really fucking hard game at times , and i cant even imagine how you're supposed to do most of the achievements which are like 'rescue 50 survivors' , because if you dont get to them in time , they die , but if you dont do the main mission in time , you die. So its just kinda D:

- engineer's dispenser , teleporter can now be upgraded to level 3 (each level = faster shit)
- Spies can recharge cloak by picking up ammo crates (spy buff.)
- Bullet firing weapons can not break demo stickies (demo nerf)
- The icon on the HUD for a person calling for Medic will now give more information to the medic (if the target is low on health, on fire, etc.)
- achievement tracker , for achievement whores.

I saw the approximately the entire black population of warwick university this morning just taking the bus to my friend's house who lives 15 minutes away. Thats scary.

Went to surprise my friend hass whose 20th birthday was on friday. We went to his house with a cake (i had to wait at the bus stop for 45 minutes because of my friend being late... >_>" - i hate lateness.).
As our luck would have it , he wasnt home. After a phonecall we found out he was in goodmayes , so we went to goodmayes. When we got to goodmayes we called him again and he was in curry's - so we went to curry's. Obviously by the time we got there he was at the bus stop to ilford. We got on the bus prior to his bus stop and we finally got to see him.

So im back home ,
good things - i have a big room again , i get food cooked for me , i dont have to go to the laundrette , i get to see frances again.

Bad things - The shower is dodgy and goes cold sometimes , im not used to my own bed , the sun pours through the windows in the morning - which is weird since im used to being on the side that doesent get morning sun. Theres no mario kart here , i cant walk out of my room and see friends , i cant shoot jenna with the toy crossbow , laggy wireless internet , no lock on my door.

Pretty fun night last night...

Christmas dinner , with amazing turkey , roast potatoes and yummy shit.
All slathered in cranberry sauce.

Then circling in the common room (drinking games) , uni style.
Which is basically 2 chairpeople and then they tell you to drink , and you do.

Played some funky drinking games , 1 frog in the pond , 3x7 (or 20+1) , what the fuck ... few others too ,which i cant remember.
More or less , you play the game , you fuck up - you drink 3 fingers. And randomly , if someone near you fucks up , you say something dodgy/disgusting, you call the chair's by their names , you leave the circle without permission etc etc etc. You do 3 fingers - or just down your pint/half pint.

If you're really unlucky - you get made to do a whirlwind (down a pint whilst spinning) , or gargle a shot.

So , after being rather drunkified - and nearly passing out...

Went to top bannana , where there was horrible music and a dancefloor. And so we danced!
steps , jerk it out , fiddy cent , christmas songs , etc etc.
Highlights of the night was hardcore rave in the middle with basshunter and scooter.

Came back home , had some doritoes - which were amazing... Then went to bed.

Dream involved being fired out of a cannon after being coated in metal for transport , stealing a roadsign - then folding it up and putting it in my pocket , btiching at people in my halls... and other stuff.

[REC] (2007)

So i went last night to see the midnight showing of spanish shakey-cam flick '[REC]'.

few bits of information about the film:
1. its all in spanish
2. its in shakey-cam
3. its an 18
4. I screamed like a little girl on a rollercoaster

[REC] is a horror film , the term horror is used rather lightly as id personally classify it as more of a scary film.
The difference between horror and scary is that horror makes you afraid or scared of stuff , scary is when shit isnt particuarly creepy or psychologically worrying but more - you know stuff is going to happen... but not when.

The film is , at heart , a zombie film. Its pretty much Left 4 Dead the movie. The shakey cam is somewhat annoying at times, but it definately does add to the scare factor , characters obscure parts of the camera - making you not know what is there or whether to brace for an OHFUCK ITS IN MY FACE AND THERE ARE LOUD NOISES moment.

It went from being boring at the start too a slightly scary film - made scary by random cheap scares , to an awesome film - made awesome by the security guard who fucks up zombies hard , not to give the other kills away but in one scene a zombie runs at him , he punches it in the face and then snaps its neck (pretty lol sitting in the cinema and being like OHHHHHHHHHHHH with some other people in the cinema clapping and stuff) . The film then goes to a very scary film towards the end... when the lights go out... "turn on the light on the camera.."-"oh okay.. give me a second..." AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH (more cheap scares.)

It was an awesome film , suspense , gore , moments which make you shout at the screen , and cheap scares - what more do you want from a 'horror' film.

Unfortunately i do think the reason it was so awesome was from the atmosphere of the cinema , having everyone scream along with you , and being 2 rows from the front probably made it a little scarier too since when shit was on screen - it was pretty much all of your vision - you also have to pan your head to look for scary little girls and stuff...

Came back afterwards , chilled out , ate some jelly , then played around with some pink food dye - made some peoples juice pink , pink milk , pink ginger beer , pink cream soda , pink lemonade....

Work work and more work

Sorry for the lack of updates , life has really been giving me a beat down.

Frances came to visit me on tuesday, which was nice - although made me realise there really isnt much to do on campus during the day (or during the night realistically)
Ended up playing guitar hero in the common room for a bit , playing poker with some of the upstairs guys and then watching 'untracable' , which was more or less 'saw' from what i hear (kidnap , torture). It was meh , somewhere between the lines of bad and okay - not particuarly a good horror film but more of a plain sadist gore film.

Walked around campus the next day , went to tesco for some shopping and ended up spending £10 on fuckknows what when i only wanted bread. Watched 'Mirrors' , which was okay. Certainly more of a horror film than 'untraceable' - although very typical supernatural horror where they solve a mystery/puzzle and then break the curse and all that jazz. It was pretty much 'the ring' but before you die you see a mirror.
2 Pizzas for lunch , yummy.

She left at 6ish , and life returned to normal.
It was at this point i realised just how much work i had to do.
- Laundry / Dry clothes
- Study the lab stuff for thursday
- revise for exam on thursday
- sleep as i only got 4 hours the night before.
Hectic night ensued.

Thursday , struggled to get out of bed , took the test , ended up copying 75% of the stuff , did the lab which took from 11am til like 4:30pm. Spent the rest of the day playing games and relaxing.
NFS undercover is kind of meh , feels like NFS most wanted.
Halo was good fun too.
Sweet and sour rice vermicelli stir fry with chicken for dinner , which was kind of dry but edible.

and now im typing this up , and will probably start trying to do my lab report since nobody is on to play L4D. Early bed tonight as 8am start again tomorrow >_>"

Rock Climbing and other crap

Went to a rock climbing lesson thing today to go on to the big wall and learn all of the ropework , ive climbed before quite a few times but never really with ropes (im too hardcore for that shit) , they force you to use ropes here to use the big wall so i figure i should go take the lesson and all that.

I learned how to do the fancy looking knot thing that keeps you from dying , i also learned how to handle the rope for the other person , i forgot what it was called though and i call can think of right now is 'bayonetting' . which probably isnt right.

Found out i missed the opportunity to go to a clubland live gig featuring scooter , ultrabeat and darren styles. which was rather sad since scooter and styles are fucking amazing.

In other news , patrick left his window open when he went home for reading week. Resulting in everything from his room being moved to the drying cupboard buy some guys , including his posters , books etc etc.
message was left in his room from the cleaning fairy "i used a spell to help me clean all of your stuff , i have however , forgotten the spell to bring it all back. <3 from gary"
When he got back he was not impressed , he demanded they put all of his stuff back... which they did.

Days pass...

Playing some Left for dead , some RA3 , Beatmania private eamuse server is online now too so ive been playing a little of that ,i wish i had brought my controller though.

Also i ordered a printer so i wouldnt have to keep poncing off ben opposite me.

err... I did another essay thing , i fobbed off one essay thing and halfassed another essay.
Currently supposed to be doing another essay. Test on friday , which should be horrible.

I bought another textbook for my course , £40. pain.
This brings my total cost for textbooks so far to around £120.

Christmas is coming soon, sort of looking forward to going back home but at the same time i know christmas is always kind of rubbish aside from the much needed break from studying , it should be more relaxing than last year as well where i spent my time around christmas working at the COSMO restaurant , dealing with christmas parties and such. Of course at least then i had some money to spend on presents , i feel really poor now and im not sure if ill end up spending that much on people.

uh... on the music scene , downloading clubland xtreme hardcore 2 and 3 , because its fun to listen to at 3am in the morning. Ive also gotten into an obscure group called Q;indivi ,which is electronic pop sort of group which sounds like Genki Rockets.



Foodwise ive been quite good , bacon with pasta and chicken and mushroom sauce , a chicken and mushroom pasty , ham and egg sandwich , jacket potato with chilli con carne and salad (fucking £3.50 , i hate you stupid cafe on gibbet hill) , i bought some more wagon wheels as well. Ive almost finished eating 4 boxes of chocolate fingers , 3 left.

I forgot my umbrella in my tutorial room today and i hope that twit amar gives it back to me , he took it from the room and i havent seen him since.

Had my first game of halo since ive been here , 4 people on one 18" pc monitor is not the most fantastic experience but our team still won (we were playing over XBL) , we have sort of established an A team of super 1337 pro hax0rz and a B team of noobs , with the A team wrecking faces and the B team being turned into piles of ash - fallout 3 lazer style.

and to end with... Heres a picture of anony raiding a fridge instead of helping to deal with the hordes of zombies which inevitably burst out of that back wall. Ps. i dont know why there are feet there , im pretty sure there isnt even anything for a body to be falling off of , nor is there anything up there but ceiling... *shrugs*

So after 4 weeks of living here , when i went home (2 weeks ago now) i weighed myself and realised i had gained half a stone from being at uni... for 4 weeks...

THIS COURSE IS 30 WEEKS LONG I DONT WANT TO BE RIK WALLER =(

as such i have started trying to eat more healthily , this week my meals have been as such..

Prawn Salad (omfg)
Cous Cous with peppers and chicken wings
Bacon and Egg Sandwich (okay i let slip here)
Rice with Cajun chicken
Spicy Chicken bake slice thing by ginsters
and right now i have 2 jacket potatoes in the oven to be eaten with tuna and sweetcorn when they're finished cooking.

I also have some mince and chicken wings in the freezer (along with some oven chicken and chips but those are emergency foods) and some eggs and bacon in the fridge.
Im slowly starting to turn this around from being super unhealthy to reasonable. (consider that in my 2nd week i think i ate 5 pizzas - that one week that is , not the 2 weeks total)

I really fancy an indian takeout. mmmm

Budgetting seems to be okayish so far , eating healthier is certainly more expensive.
The last 2 weeks food shopping came to about £60 which isnt tooooooo bad... (about £4 a day for breakfast , lunch, dinner, cream soda and ice cream)

in other news , saw Iron man yesterday at the student cinema (£3) , it was actually surprisingly good , i think i enjoy films so much more when i havent seen the trailers/much of the trailer and have no real idea of the story. As such i dont think im gonna watch anymore trailers if i can help it.

Also , Left 4 Dead session last night was absoloutely amazing , i didnt manage to get any screenshots since my fraps wasnt open and all that jazz but ill definately get some next time when we play on expert.

Uni life

Just checked the results of the archery thing and i came 19th out of 36. Which is somewhere between meh and pretty bad. I did shoot horribly so i can only imagine how bad everyone else was.

Finally got round to uploading some of the pictures from my phone..

28th October.. Extreme amounts of rain bombards Warwick uni for the first time since i was there. The picture was taken walking back from gibbet hill which is the medical buildings , its about 15 minutes walk back to halls so i was soaked through by the time i got back :<

It doesent look that big , but this thing was about half the size of me (so around 1m high) , the bottom one was so heavy it took 5 of us to roll it , and even that was nearly imposible. I dont know how those cousins in katamari do it man ;_;

I got 18/30 on my last test , which wasnt too bad. Im not feeling so hopeful on this one though. Tests in university for me seem to be less of a test of knowledge and more of a test of how good you can look at other peoples answer sheets and assessing whether they know what they're doing or not.

its also come to my realization that although there arent many black people here , the ones that are , arent very different to conventional black people. You'd think they might be smarter or more civilized considering they're going to one of the leading UK universities but nope. They still sit at the back , talk during lecture , shout stuff out , tawk laak dis laak , and generally lack respect for any other human being. *shrugs*

I forgot to back up some of the posts so theres like 3 posts there that went missing. oh well.

Blog should be all working and shit now , even the old pictures work (cant upload pictures yet though ,ill work that out soon i hope)

will reupload the uploads folder soon but i only downloaded files up to around 1mb , if you uploaded anything above 1mb (im looking at you boyce) they wont be there.

Now that this is the 2nd year my blog has been running , im tempted to make a change to the theme.
What do you guys think of either of these?

edit: apparently people cant access the /uploads/ folder as they dont have permissions... not sure whats going on there. the file hosting DOES still work though but you wont be able to access a file unless you know the name of the file.

Archery

Its hard to tell from this picture but this little asian girl is shorter than her bow.

which i thought was really funny to look at , reminds me of RF online where all the characters have obscenely large weapons.

We shot 20 meters in archery today (as far as the girl in the picture is shooting) , it was pretty fun although hitting bullseyes are nigh on impossible for me at this stage.
I also apparently have super long arms , they had to get the super long arrows out for me because otherwise at full draw the arrow comes off the bow.

Geopursuit - YOU vs THE WORLD

So yesterday afternoon some people came round the dorm and threw these up everywhere (under and on doors)


, i was first to the scene.

The way my room is set is like so..



I took the one on my door , and the one on helens door and put it under bens door.

Apparently , he then came back while i was gone , took the ones under his door and put it under helens door.

At some point i then got two through my door , i can only assume helen did it.

we now have about 5 and hide them all over each others rooms , (helens room is always unlocked because she lost her keys so we get a bit of an advantage - i feel pervy/awkward going into a girls room when she's not around though.

Last night when she was gone somewhere we put one amongst her birthday cards , one in her sink , and one in her bed under the duvet. Result?



Got that under my door at about 1am.

Today , i went out to lectures and came back to find my door with this on...



There were also 2 door hanger things on top of the door.

I wanted another newspaper so we could blu-tak that page to helens ceiling , so i went upstairs to search for a student newspaper...

Result?

I came back to this.


Also , as of right now , theres 4 in bens room (in his bible , in his bed , in his underwear drawer , in his maths textbook) and one in helens room (hanging on her cupboard with all her clothes)

Life

The past few days ive been living off pizza , neglecting my studies , making more friends on the other side of the corridor , reading 'beaver and steve' (ben let me borrow it for a while) , playing the 'mine' game,  eating haribo (the box is nearly empty!!! D: ) and probably other stuff too.

I -think- im the current record holder of the cryfield sprint but that might be my imagination , its a run from the common room to the side stairwell , up to the first floor , run all the way round to the other side stairwell and then sprint back to the common room with the pillar as the finish line. I think i got 23 seconds yesterday but im not 100% sure , maybe that was my imagination. I definately got 28 seconds on my first try.. hmm.

Ive bought my lab coat, it makes me look sciencey.

uh.... idk what else to say.

so im gonna go take a shower now.

Oh yeah , i finished Crysis Warhead. Pretty damn good game.
And Portal : Prelude is good , but really hard. im on the 5th level so far.

Death of WoW

So my world of warcraft subscription ran out yesterday, and after crying about it for ages i figured its for the greater good.

For example , my xfire says that ive played 14 hours this week. Those 14 hours could have been spent studying , or going out , or doing laundry (i really fucking need to do laundry , i have like 2 boxers left and one pair of socks.)  , or general hanging out and trying to be social.

I do love playing it - battlegrounds and dungeons can be pretty fun , along with making obscene amounts of money and then laughing at poor people - however i think until maybe my xmas/easter/summer holiday im going to try and restrain myself and not buy another 2 months. Not to mention if i kept playing id need to buy Burning crusade pretty soon since i was at level 53 and getting to the higher levels of my trade skills...
(and then of course if i do start playing again id probably then need to buy lich king >_> )

Fact: University libraries are confusing as hell

Not much happened today, went to the booksale in the morning , which was a failure. The queue was about 1 and a half hours long and i really couldnt be fucked so i just went back home and messed around on WoW for a bit.

Decided i really need books so i tried going to the library after finding out that one of the books i needed was 'AVAILABLE' from the website. The problem arised when i got there...

None of the shelves i found had my code. Oh dear.
I eventually came across a moving shelf thing with about 800 books on. On the shelves themselves there are no labels telling you what is where or anything , there is no indication as to how the books are ordered etc etc.
I looked around for about half an hour then eventually gave up and just went back to dorm.

I had an innovative lunch today , i had run out of everything. All i had in my part of the fridge were some eggs (3 of them) , my bread was also one day out of date but i used it anyway.
I stole some Sour Cream and onion pringles and made a sandwich of Egg and pringles with ketchup in the middle.



Spent the rest of the day trying to learn how to juggle and now im typing this up at 9pm whilst the others are watching some film called 'Glorious' , im not much of a film person so i figured id just come online and waste time doing whatever.
